TYPES OF WEAVING

Fabric weaves are crucial to understand since the smoothness, comfort, thickness, durability, rip strength, and even drape of the fabric are all determined by the weave type. There are several weaving designs available, all of which produces a unique cloth. Plain, Twill, and Satin are the three fundamental weaves.

PLAIN WEAVE:

Plain weave is the most basic of three fundamental types of textile weaves. It is utilized for fashion and furnishing fabrics since it is strong and long-lasting. The warp and weft threads cross at right angles in plain weave cloth, forming a basic crisscross pattern. Tabby weave is also known as linen weave or taffeta weave.

TWILL WEAVE:

Twill is a type of textile weave that has diagonal parallel ribs. This is accomplished by passing the weft thread over one or more warp threads, then under two or more warp threads, and so on, with a "step" or offset between rows to produce the distinctive diagonal pattern.

SATIN WEAVE:

Satin is a weave that has a shiny front and a drab back. Four or more fill or weft threads floating over a warp yarn, or four warp yarns floating over a single weft yarn, define the satin weave.
